Supplier Quality Engineer Sr/Spec/Principal
Overview The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be responsible for managing the quality of Electric Boats vendors. These vendors provide engineered components which plays a crucial role in downstream manufacturing process in our shipyards and at other vendors in our supply chain. This position requires the SQE to develop relationships with peers within the supplier quality organization along with program office, procurement and material services organizations, and across disciplines within the engineering community. To be successful, the ideal candidate must possess knowledge of quality principles and understanding of supply chain management. Interpersonal and organizational skills, be an effective writer/reviewer, and be capable of working in a team environment. The SQE will be required to perform various duties throughout all stages of procurement, including but not limited to: review of Ordering Data, Supplier Capability Assessments, Supplier's Quality Management System reviews, Process Audits and process / product inspection. In addition, Engineers will evaluate material defects and quality trends to identify where Supplier root cause assessments and corrective actions are required. This position benefits from a technical background, willingness to understand complex/critical components, and historically trend/analyze nonconformance data. This position will require travel to Supplier locations to develop an understanding of the manufacturing and quality practices used by the Supplier to ensure purchase order requirements are met. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline
