Position Overview:

The Software Tester evaluates software applications to identify and report defects, ensuring they meet quality and functionality standards. This role involves designing and executing test cases, collaborating with development teams, and contributing to delivering reliable and user-friendly software products.

Job Functions/Responsibilities

Analyze requirements encompassing various aspects of our eClinicalWorks product.
Review functional specifications to provide timely and meaningful feedback on Functional Specifications.
Understand the scope of the test design with reference to scope of functionality adhering to Certification criterion by closely working with internal teams (e.g. Developers Product Analyst and CERHT Team) to determine the scope, identify system and application requirements and then create detailed, comprehensive well-structured test plan / test cases.
Maintain the Traceability Matrix between the Certification Criteria requirements and the new test cases, JIRAs, as well as already existing inventory such that a gold standard test suite exists for the various aspects of the EHR Regulatory Certification Criteria. Identify and implement test scenarios, create new test cases based on the new test case design format and ensure they meet the industry standards.
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities for CEHRT Test Suite on some regression cycles.
Perform thorough regression testing and / or change log testing for different builds.
Execute the regression tests before product releases to ensure software runs as expected.
Report any defects and help analyze and identify P1 defects (Reportable events if a defect affects any of the certification criteria and cases report bugs/glitches.
Review/peer review of test cases created by other peers and suggest any changes needed.
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet industry standards and release goals.
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
Other job duties as assigned.

Experience/Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
Adheres to all company policies and mandatory compliance protocols as required by eCW
Experience with black box testing is preferred
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process - ISTQB trained and/or Scrum master certified, preferred
Experience with server-side programming using VB / COM, preferred
Knowledge of Java or .net, preferred

Understanding of how to write test case, testing levels, testing techniques and methodologies

Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
Communication and teamwork skills
