Division Chief of Endocrinology

Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University are recruiting a visionary, nationally recognized physician executive for the position of Chief, Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience to oversee the Division's multidisciplinary clinical program, outstanding educational programs, multiple quality improvement initiatives, and innovative research portfolio. Applicants must have a distinguished academic record, a reputation as a collaborative leader, and the ability to mentor the next generation of academic pediatric endocrinologists.

The Division has comprehensive programs covering the full range of endocrine disorders, including subspecialty clinics for: Type 2 Diabetes, Turner's Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Adrenal Disorders, Gender, Metabolic Bone Disease, and others. There are also a number of multi-disciplinary clinics covering a variety of conditions with endocrine related co-morbidities.

The Chief will report to the Department Chair and the Chief Medical Officer at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for full program development and oversight, including clinical, educational, and research activities. Important additional components are the development of programs and mentoring for junior faculty and fellows, and support for quality improvement efforts. Candidate qualifications include board certification in pediatric endocrinology, a distinguished record of accomplishment as a clinician and investigator, a proven record of leadership and managerial responsibilities, experience in providing guidance and counsel to junior faculty, and an academic record sufficient to merit appointment as an Associate or Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

• Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
• Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols. Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
• Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
• Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required.
• Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.

• Medical License in the State of Ohio, required.
• Unrestricted licensed physician, required.

Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, required.
