About This Opportunity

JOB TITLE: Clean Up/OO Cheesemake Relief
POSITION TYPE: Full time
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

* Starting pay is $24.80 per hour, increasing to $29.18 per hour upon successful completion of a 60-day probationary period.

* Receive a $2.00 per hour shift premium for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

* Earn an additional $2.00 per hour with a valid Cheesemaker's License.

* Position requires availability to work both day shift (6:00AM - 6:00PM) and night shift (6:00PM - 6:00AM).
* Weekends and holidays scheduled on a rotating basis.

Keep working areas in OO Cheesemake clean and in orderly condition. Provide breaks to OO cheesemaker on shift. Reports to Production Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cover for Cleanup and OO cheesemakers on all 4 shifts when needed (6:00AM - 6:00PM and 6:00PM - 6:00AM)

  • Understand all facets of both Cleanup and OO cheesemaker roles.

  • Relieve OO/HCV Cheesemaker's for shift break periods during production.

  • Perform or assist in necessary hook-ups / connections for CIP of all OO / DMC Cheesemaking equipment (heavy focus on DMC) and all adjoining piping used for transfer of milk solids and whey including cream addition line for PRC 7.

  • Enter sample data from PRC and milk silos into Factory Talk

  • Clean In Place (CIP) of PRC tanks.

  • Disassemble / assemble whey fine savers for production and perform cleaning tasks.

  • Perform MSS responsibilities, general clean up tasks throughout the day, and environmental clean-up tasks Test milk, RECON, and RO blends in the silos for composition prior to use by either OO or HCV Cheesemake. Record analytics in Factory Talk.

  • Maintain chemical inventories and chemical strengths.

  • Responsible for ensuring quality and food safety practices are always applied.

  • Conduct FSMA documentation and Quality checks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Effective Cognition:

  • Communicate effectively with plant personnel
  • Work well independently or as a member of a work group
  • Follow verbal work instructions
  • Interpret and read information in the English language including safety rules, operatinginstructions and procedure manuals
  • Perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, fractions, etc.)
  • Operate human machine interfaces and computers
  • Able to tell time on an analog or digital clock

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Able to walk and stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time
  • Able stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Use hands to flex, grip tools and operate machinery
  • Push, pull, lift with arms below waist/at shoulder level/above shoulder level up to 65 pounds
  • See close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and able to adjust focus
  • Perform work in extreme hot or cold temperatures in a damp environment
  • Wear required PPE (e.g., hearing protection, fall protection, bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, chemical handling PPE, etc.)
  • Regular workplace presence is required
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and extended hours on a rotating schedule

CERTIFICATIONS: Forklift Certification (training provided)
