Salary range:
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation depending on specialty can range from $281,574-$391,725. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, anticipates openings for physicians in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. These openings will be at the level of Assistant Professor or above, depending upon the candidate's qualification and will be in the Health Sciences Clinical Series (non-tenure track).

Applicants must have an MD or DO upon starting and must be board certified or eligible in internal medicine/Nephrology and licensed to practice in California. Incumbent will be expected to attend the following clinical services: inpatient consults with supervision of fellows-in-training, outpatient dialysis, and ambulatory clinics, among others. Unique areas of expertise, including in glomerulonephritis, kidney stones, hypertension, renal transplantation, home dialysis, interventional nephrology, critical care nephrology, combined medicine/pediatrics, and other relevant areas would be appreciated and may be preferred for some of these positions.

Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Applicants must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching and professional service. Graduating, Nephrology fellows are strongly encouraged to apply as are clinical educators and clinician scientists (basic, translational, outcome/epidemiology).
