Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director of Crowdfunding drives the Foundation's crowdfunding strategy and oversees crowdfunding programs within the Constituent Engagement and Annual Giving department, including UConn Gives, the Ignite competitions, and one-off campaigns. This position serves as the main point of contact and is responsible for planning, recruiting, training, and executing these programs.

Primary Responsibilities



  • Working with the Director of Digital Marketing, craft a crowdfunding strategy for the Foundation that supports donor growth goals and increases engagement with key constituencies.
  • Manage the annual UConn Gives and Ignite campaigns. This includes:

    • Creating a project plan that includes goals, a communications outline, timeline, list of deliverables, and evaluation plan.
    • Marketing the campaigns to internal partners, recruiting participating groups, and onboarding, training, and stewarding participants.
    • Planning and managing in-person, on-campus events and trainings, including Ignite Day.
    • Assisting Digital Marketing team with creation of campaign pages using the Foundation's online giving platform.
    • Serving as liaison with student activities, club sports, and UConn Law to oversee the distribution and management of funds following the Ignite competitions.
  • Identify, develop and execute new crowdfunding opportunities in partnership with the Director of Digital Marketing and the Director of Direct Response.
  • Collaborate with Social Media Engagement Manager on marketing plans for student and crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Collaborate with members of the Creative, Content & Communication team on the development of creative assets for use in crowdfunding efforts.
  • Serve as a regular contributor in Annual Giving team meetings. Collaborate with Director of Direct Response on schedule of annual appeals via direct mail, Husky Storyteller program, and/or digital solicitations to acquire new donors and retain existing donors.
  • Manage the Foundation's Faculty and Staff giving program and serve as the point of contact for questions.
  • Support clearly defined and strategic fundraising priorities within the campaign and articulate compelling cases to advance these priorities.
  • Model and articulate the Foundation's organizational core values at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Potential Donor Discovery

Collaborate with the Prospect Management and Research team to increase and grow the donor pipeline and overall fundraising success of the Foundation.

Engagement

Collaborate with Donor Relations/Stewardship and Digital Marketing to steward donors, engage with alumni, and support campaigns specific to your department.

Leadership

Provide visible leadership across the entire organization by engaging in organization-wide activities such as departmental meetings, all-staff meetings, and staff events.

  • Ability to engender trust and confidence of donors and prospective donors and to maintain confidentiality of donor information; ability to represent the UConn Foundation to prospects, donors, faculty, administrators, and others.

  • Ability to work to the demands of the position, which may exceed a 40-hour work week.


Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in fundraising and/or relevant transferrable skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite and donor management systems.


Salary:

The expected salary for this position is $60,000+. It will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also placing an emphasis on internal equity.
