Requisition ID req33815 Working Title Unit Administrator 1 Position Grade 11 Position Summary The School of Engineering is seeking an experienced Unit Administrator I to work in our new Research Support Office (RSO). The RSO will support all pre- and post-award duties for all Category 2 research centers in the School, as well as all complex and/or large research awards that academic units do not have the bandwidth to administer. The Research Support Office will report directly to the SoE Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, and will be managed by a Program Operations Director, to support the Center for Water and the Environment, the SouthWest Environmental Finance Center, COSMIAC, and the Manufacturing Training and Technology Center. Research expenditures for these units for FY24 were close to $20M. The Unit Administrator will perform a variety of HR, accounting, budgetary, and administrative duties. Given the rapid growth of the research centers that the RSO supports, the Unit Administrator must be able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, be independent, self-motivated, detail-oriented, a quick learner, and able to adapt to new situations. The Unit Administrator will be supported by the administrative and accounting staff in the RSO and be part of a team with that staff. We are looking for someone who has experience hiring excellent research faculty, staff and students, but can also support purchasing, timekeeping and a variety of post-award accounting functions. Higher ed experience is desirable but not required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 1 year of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
