Job Summary
The Sales Development Manager leads a high growth sales development team for the Public Safety business. The Public Safety SDR team qualifies inbound leads and generates outbound opportunities for the distribution network. The ideal candidate will be a transformational team leader who can bring out the best within the team through the creation of training/development, building out success metrics and driving the team to exceed opportunity quotas. The incumbent should have experience developing motivating compensation structures and executing repeatable processes that allow the team and total pipeline numbers to scale rapidly. Strong, hands-on utilization skills of Salesforce.com, outreach and analytics is a must. The role will report to the Director, North America Public Safety Marketing and requires strong leadership presence and the ability to maintain strategic partnerships across the organization.
Essential Functions
- Manage and develop existing team of Sales Development Representatives.
- Drive business planning, goal attainment, measurement/improvement and compensation design to maximize team results.
- Work with sales and marketing to systematically improve the lead qualification process and lead to opportunity conversion rates to maximize team efficiency, effectiveness and quality of opportunities being passed to our distribution partners.
- Establish team performance metrics and reporting structure.
- Ensure every Sales Development Representative is executing daily on best practices and achieving and exceeding monthly opportunity goals.
- Build close cross-functional relationships with Sales leadership to ensure Sales Development Representatives and sales/channel alignment.
- Implement a Sales Development Representative training/enablement curriculum ensuring new hires are onboarded successfully and training needs are fulfilled for existing team members.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field preferred. preferred
- 5-7+ years managing a sales development team. required and
- Experience working with Salesforce.com and other marketing automation systems. required and
- Understanding of B2B distribution channels preferred. preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience leading and growing a sales or sales development team, preferably in a B2B technology environment.
- Ability to derive key insights from data sources and convert them into appropriate actions.
- Demonstrated experience in creating dashboards, team KPI's and required analytics on team performance with regular cadence of reporting.
- Proven track record training, coaching and mentoring Sales Development Representatives and managers.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and with multiple departments including sales, marketing and service groups.
- Strong objection handling and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to influence the actions and decision making of others.
- Highly motivated individual with energy, enthusiasm and passion for leading and coaching a growing team.
