• Per Diem
• Hours: M-F; 8 am - 4:30 pm
• Required Travel: None

What you will do:

The Patient Care Technician-Scheduling Coordinator provides clinical and secretarial support for the Outpatient Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. This role assists the Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse in maintaining efficient function of the clinic in carrying out patient care and other related duties.

This role performs tasks related to the functioning of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center and the provision of patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager. They promote positive public relations through courteous interactions with patients, families, staff and physicians.

• Answers the unit phone in a polite manner identifying self and department.
• Performs secretarial duties for the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center including but not limited to scheduling patient visits, greeting patients and families, registering and checking in patients for their appointments, performing insurance verification as needed, and assisting the nursing staff with faxes and fielding phone calls.
• Performs PCT functions in the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center including but not limited to taking vitals, removing dressings, assisting the nurse with performing a treatment, cleaning and resetting patient exam rooms.
• Assists in orientation of new Patient Care Technician-Scheduling Coordinator to the unit.

What you will need:

• CNA certification orSuccessful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course orminimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• American Heart Association CPR Certification
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to interact effectively with others
• Ability to uphold confidentiality standards appropriately
• Must communicate effectively (both written and verbally), be organized and self directed
• One year Nursing Assistant experience or comparable experience preferred.
• Secretarial and computer knowledge is desirable; computer entry, and simple math.
• Ability to effectively handle stress
• Ability to handle confidentiality appropriately
