Unit Bio: Maine Medical Center's Vascular Access team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurseto join our dynamic and collaborative team. This role supports both adult and pediatric patientsacross all MMC units, offering a unique opportunity to work in a diverse and fast-paced clinical environment. Our Vascular Access team works closely with providers, bedside nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and effective vascular access care. Collaboration and mutual respectare at the heart of everything we do. Ideal candidateswill have prior vascular access experience and certification. However, we also welcome applicants with RN experience in areas such as SCU, PACU, oncology, Emergency room,IV therapy, or home health, where skills in critical thinking, independence, and patient-centered care are highly transferable. Schedule: 12-hour shifts Summary: Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1. Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year. 2. License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine. Certification in relevant specialty preferred. 3. Experience: At least 1 year prior RN work experience. Meets all requirements of Clinical Nurse I. Completion of Level I usually achieved by 12 months of employment. 5 years of inpatient nursing experience with ED or ICU experience preferred. Vascular access experience strongly preferred. 4. Basic knowledge of the research base, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing. 5. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. 6. Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in patients' conditions and to initiate appropriate action. 7. Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families and to initiate appropriate action. 8. Demonstrates a caring nursing practice and promotes a healing environment for patients and families. 9. Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.
