Job Duties: Associate, Banker - Industry/Country Coverage with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Provides bespoke financial advisory services covering mergers and acquisitions, capital raising (debt and equity) including Initial Public Offerings, takeover defense, restructuring and general strategic advice to financial institution clients, specifically in the Insurance sector. Independently drives analysis and deliverables that underpin the firm's financial advisory services and actively participates in the business development process, including attending formal client meetings. Independently executes work related to mandated projects, including due diligence, financial modelling and analysis, case specific transaction structuring and evaluation, process management and general management efforts within the Insurance sector. Independently analyzes, structures and executes transactions on behalf of corporate clients, with a focus on the Insurance sector. Independently prepares and reviews proprietary financial models and analysis, including merger consequences, discounted cash flow and leveraged buyout valuations, as well as relative valuations based on comparable companies and precedent transactions within the Insurance sector. Independently analyzes financial and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections and models prepared by insurance clients in various formats. Presents to insurance clients, including at the CEO / CFO level, on topics such as strategic alternatives, industry update, capital markets activities, restructuring alternatives and corporate governance issues at board of director meetings, conventional client meetings and on conference calls. Manages deal execution, including preparing marketing materials, running due diligence processes, negotiating non-disclosure agreements and other legal documents with legal and third-party representatives, organizing and attending deal and non-deal roadshow meetings, and liaising with other investment banks and other teams within the Investment Banking division.

Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, General Management, or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, General Management, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year with Master's degree or three (3) years with Bachelor's degree with the following: building and reviewing financial models, including both operating models and valuation models (DDM and traditional DCF), for both insurance companies and insurance brokers; developing complex presentations and financial models using Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint, in particular in the insurance sector; executing debt and equity financing transactions (both in public and private markets) for corporate clients operating in the insurance sector; experience working with investment banking professionals in connection with M&A transactions, capital raising, and other complex financial transactions; presenting to senior executives, including the CEO and CFO, on M&A and financial analyses within the insurance sector; and reading and analyzing insurance company financial statements and actuarial reports & appraisals. Up to 15% domestic and international travel required for client meetings. Travel expenses paid by the firm.

Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York-based position is $175,000 - $225,000.
