OverviewAzure Capacity Infrastructure Service (CIS) is an internal service driving capacity build-out and decommissioning through automation. Azure is growing at a fast past and all capacity additions go through us. We're a software engineering team partnering with service teams in Azure to automate and drive scenarios such as building Azure clusters, availability zones or regions.As a Software Engineer on the Azure Capacity Infrastructure Service team, you learn how both Azure backend services and business come together to make the cloud a reality. You'll design, build, deploy, and run a distributed system to safely orchestrate the refresh process and ensure new product designs are ready to support a full lifecycle.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Responsibilities Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
