Radiology Staff Nurse - Be the Steady Hand Behind Every Image About the Role As a Radiology Staff Nurse, you'll be at the intersection of advanced imaging and critical nursing care. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/IR Section Leader, you'll provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages from children to seniors, acutely ill to chronically managed. In this role, every day is different: you'll collaborate with radiologists and technologists, prepare patients for procedures, and be ready to respond to the unexpected with calm expertise. Above all, you'll ensure that patients feel safe, respected, and supported throughout their radiology journey. What You'll Do
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to inpatients and outpatients in the Radiology Department.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, including vital signs and EKG changes, while responding promptly with appropriate interventions.
- Recognize and assist in the treatment of contrast reactions and intervene in emergencies.
- Assist radiologists with special procedures, administer conscious sedation, and monitor patients throughout recovery.
- Provide continuity of care for critically ill patients using advanced equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and oxygen delivery systems.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, safety, and post-care instructions.
- Support staff education and orientation for nurses, technologists, physicians, and students.
- Contribute to infection control, safety, scheduling, and patient education initiatives.
- Promote Service Excellence by advocating for patients and ensuring privacy, dignity, and respect.
What You Bring
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN license in Massachusetts.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred; critical care experience strongly preferred.
- Strong assessment, IV, and clinical intervention skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.
- Computer proficiency and commitment to confidentiality.
