Executive Director of Facilities


Position Summary


The Executive Director of Facilities provides strategic and operational leadership for Facility Maintenance, Power Plant Operations, Grounds, Protective Services, Environmental Services, and Laundry across all St. Ann's Community sites. This role ensures the highest quality service delivery for residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Administration



  • Directs and oversees all aspects of facilities and support services operations across multiple campuses.
  • Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
  • Guides strategic planning to modernize operations, implement emerging technologies, and support future development initiatives.
  • Prepares and manages multi-site budgets; ensures fiscal responsibility and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Leads planning and execution of large-scale capital projects; contributes to long-range capital strategy in collaboration with Finance and Operations.
  • Maintains performance standards and staffing qualifications; oversees personnel activities including hiring, training, evaluation, and disciplinary processes.
  • Manages vendor relationships, prepares specifications for contracted work, and ensures service quality.
  • Allocates resources effectively across campuses to maintain service levels and coverage.
  • Establishes and monitors HPPD benchmarks to drive efficiency.


Plant Maintenance



  • Establishes quality standards for the upkeep of buildings and equipment, ensuring facility integrity and functionality.
  • Collaborates with other departments to identify and respond to facility needs.
  • Coordinates training programs to enhance the skills of maintenance staff.
  • Oversees preventive maintenance schedules to ensure timely and efficient execution.
  • Manages residential unit turnovers and renovations, ensuring readiness and quality standards.


Power Plant Operations



  • Defines operational protocols and ensures safe, efficient management of power plant systems.
  • Tracks energy consumption and oversees fuel procurement strategies.
  • Supports ongoing education and training of Power Plant staff.


Protective Services & Emergency Preparedness



  • Oversees compliance with life safety regulations, including fire and disaster drills.
  • Serves as fire marshal and leads emergency response activities as needed.
  • Updates and implements campus-wide Emergency Management Plans.
  • Develops policies and procedures for Protective Services to ensure a secure environment.


Grounds Management



  • Directs grounds supervisors in landscape and exterior maintenance operations.
  • Upholds aesthetic and safety standards for all outdoor areas, utilities, and roadways.


Environmental Services & Laundry



  • Ensures compliance with environmental sanitation standards and efficient laundry operations across all facilities.



REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from fouryear college or university in Engineering and/or Plant Maintenance with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
