Full-time Description
The Senior Manager of Financial Account and Reporting manages the accounting and financial reporting functions for assigned LOB. Supports projects and other strategic initiatives across assigned LOB entities domestically and internationally. Works closely with the executive team in Financial and Global Accounting, Risk, and Compliance. Essential Functions Manage the preparation, audit, and review of assigned LOB financial statements and other consolidated financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures Directs the preparation and review of financial statements for assigned LOB Direct activities and acts as a key point of contact for external and internal audit teams Oversee research, analysis, and reporting of fluctuations to identify trends and research variances; make recommendations to improve company performance and resolve issues Manage financial forecasting for assigned LOB Provide the Board of Directors and Executive team with the appropriate financial reporting and analysis necessary to assist in the financial management and control of the company Monitors performance of direct reports; provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling; conducts performance reviews and manages merit pool Assures effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility; conducts employee discussions at regular and frequent intervals Monitors unit's turnover, productivity, and overall performance to ensure adequate staffing and performance that meet department standards Provides direction to staff on strategic and departmental projects, including financial and business analysis, budgeting, accounting, and reporting; manages multiple financial projects with competing deadlines simultaneously Requirements
Job Specifications Typically has the following skills or abilities: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience; Minimum of 1 additional year of experience related to functional area Minimum of 3 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing performance of direct reports In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and planning skills Strong interpersonal skills are required in dealing effectively with business partners, staff, outside auditors, vendors, and the Board of Directors Clean credit history as reported by credit report LI-REMOTE VSP Vision is an equal opportunity employer and gives consideration for employment to qualified applicants without regard to age, gender, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
