Summary:

The service line director works with a large company client account supporting supply chain efforts. This position provides sourcing and contracting support for a core group and leadership and contracting expertise to lead sourcing initiatives and is a direct interface between the client and National GPO.

Responsibilities:

• Work with client's representatives to identify opportunities for cost reduction through Vizient contract portfolio implementation.
• Evaluate client data of spend to prioritize implementation of contracts based on highest savings opportunities, and present a plan of this priority to clients.
• Work with other contract managers to elicit information, support, and development of amendments to existing Vizient contracts where necessary for specific client requirements.
• Work with other team members on common goals and objectives that meet current budget requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers those contracts designed specifically for client while keeping designated contracting team members informed of your activities.
• Coordinate bid efforts, supervise data analysis, and use client participation in this process to achieve your goals and objectives.
• Identify those contracts that will require hands-on implementation. Develop implementation plans for those contracts as assigned, and work with the appropriate client base necessary to achieve a successful implementation.
• Facilitate client committees that lead to contract implementation, building consensus among the members, researching additional cost saving opportunities, and building long term relationships.
• Participate in the development of agendas, and follow up on action items assigned through the committee process.
• Research clients spend information to identify hidden savings opportunities not otherwise apparent.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of client base, and within Vizient information necessary in a professional and timely manner.
• Administer contracts assigned, and manage supplier interaction necessary to Vizient, and client's needs.
• Manage the Vizient work plan for the imaging area during the year to keep the various client committees this position is responsible for informed of new contracts, status of existing contracts, and any other activities that may affect the client during the year.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in business or related concentration; graduate degree preferred (Supply Chain, Healthcare, Business, Finance)
• Minimum of six plus years proven experience and Knowledge in strategic sourcing, supply chain, hospital consulting, purchasing, materials management or contracts management
• Demonstrated ability to work in a professional, multi-disciplinary team as a group leader, facilitator, or a participant
• Medical Leadership within an Acute-Care Hospital
• Proven success with sourcing complex categories within purchasing
• Healthcare/Hospital /GPO negotiation experience is required
• Strong market analysis skills and sound business judgment with a strong understanding of health care services, supply chain operations, and finance
• Demonstrated ability to maintain grace under pressure in difficult negotiations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• We are seeking candidates with experience in the areas in strategic sourcing and negotiating a variety of medical/clinical contracts such as: General, Head & Neck (ENT) and Neuro Surgery
• Travel: 40-50%
