Cost Down Engineer Requisition ID: 44975 Job Location(s): Tallahassee, FL, US Employment Type: Full Time Segment: Danfoss Climate Solutions Segment Job Function: Procurement & Purchasing Work Location Type: On-site The Impact You'll Make Danfoss Commercial Compressors (CC) and Danfoss Turbocor Global Supply Chain are looking for a Cost Down Engineer to become part of our collaborative teams. In this role, you will participate in launching projects, from ideation to the successful execution of sourcing strategies within the Turbocor Business. We are in search of a professional with a solid history in sourcing and project management, showcasing consistent advancements in project execution and cross-functional collaboration in an international setting This role is located on-sitein Tallahassee and may require up to 20 days of travel annually. What You'll Be Doing Identify Cost-Saving Opportunities: Analyze current processes, materials, and systems to pinpoint areas where costs can be reduced without impacting quality, and develop corresponding strategies Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and execute cost reduction plans aligned with organizational goals, ensuring they are sustainable and measurable. Project Management & Execution: Lead cost reduction projects from initiation to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across procurement, engineering, finance, and operations to align and implement cost-saving measures Vendor & Risk Management: Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms while identifying and mitigating risks associated with cost reduction initiatives Progress Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Track project outcomes, report progress to senior management, and promote ongoing improvement by refining processes and identifying future opportunities. What We're Looking For Education and/or Experience: Degree in business, technology, project management, or other related field combined with at least 5-7 years of experience in project management, engineering, procurement, operations, or technology Sourcing or procurement experience in field of Automotive, Medical or Industrial products is must (electrical components experience is plus) Strong negotiation skills Ability to work with international teams in a global matrix organization Preferred Qualifications: Strong facilitation skills, fostering teamwork and a cross-functional mindset, ideally with Agile/Scrum methodologies Confidence in communicating with customers, management, and stakeholders regarding progress, risks, and key deliverables.
