Compliance Specialist

Position location is flexible and may office from any branch in Winona, MN or Greensboro, NC or Denton, TX

Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm

OVERVIEW:

Working as Full-time Compliance Specialist, you will help Fastenal ensure that our products and services comply with the relevant laws and regulations in the markets we operate globally. You will be responsible for conducting research on various compliance and regulatory topics, analyzing the impact of new or changing regulations on our business, and providing guidance and recommendations to management and other stakeholders. This role will provide a strategic link between Product & Supplier Compliance Teams, along with Supplier Development Management, Fastenal's Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales Teams and Operations. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

o Conducting research on compliance and regulatory topics using various sources, such as 3rd party tools, online databases, websites, journals, books, etc.

o Monitoring and tracking the developments and changes in the compliance and regulatory landscape in the markets we operate in

o Analyzing the impact of new or changing regulations on our products and services, and identify the risks and opportunities for our business

o Preparing and presenting reports, summaries, and briefings on compliance and regulatory research findings and analysis

o Providing guidance and recommendations to management and other stakeholders on compliance and regulatory matters

o Collaborating with other departments and teams globally, such as legal, product, quality, operations, etc., to ensure compliance and regulatory alignment across the organization

o Developing and maintaining a framework to intake, understand, and plan a coordinated response within Fastenal that may include strategy and business operation changes

o Staying updated on the best practices and trends in compliance and regulatory research

o Using tools provided to ensure compliance and communication to the organization, such as, but not limited to: PeopleSoft, SmartSheet, Internet, 3rd party research databases, Internal communication tools: BLUE Chatbot, ServiceNow, Sharepoint, and Sales Enablement Center

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

o Possess or working towards a degree in Business, Business Law, Finance, Marketing or related education OR 1 year experience with product or supplier compliance

o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed

oExcellent written and oral communication skills

oProficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (V-lookups and basic formatting)

oHighly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented

oDemonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities

oExhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision-making skills

oDemonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency

oLearn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

oWork independently as well as in a team environment

o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork

o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

FULL-TIME BENEFITS:

Fastenal offers a competitive benefits package to all full-time employees. This package includes Health, Life, Long Term Disability, and Dental Insurance, in addition to, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and 401(k) with an employer contribution.

COMPENSATION:

The base pay range for this position is $45,000 - 62,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
