MTSI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Planning Manager to lead advanced production planning efforts for mission-critical programs supporting our AFRL customer at Wright-Patterson AFB. This role involves managing complex workflows, ensuring production schedules align with program milestones, and guiding teams through the effective execution of production operations within a dynamic and highly secured environment.
The Senior Production Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in demand forecasting, resource allocation, and optimizing production strategies to meet evolving operational requirements. In addition to technical knowledge, the ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure efficient production processes supporting national defense initiatives.
Responsibilities
Duties to be independently executed include but are not limited to:
- Production Planning and Scheduling:
- Developing and maintaining production schedules to meet contractual obligations and mission-critical deadlines.
- Capacity Planning and Resource Allocation:
- Performing capacity planning to optimize resources and ensure alignment with production demand forecasts.
- Workflow Optimization:
- Leading efforts to map, analyze, and improve workflows to reduce bottlenecks and enhance production efficiency.
- Demand Forecasting and Materials Management:
- Managing supply chain and materials inventory based on accurate demand forecasts for production cycles.
- Risk Analysis and Mitigation:
- Identifying potential production risks and implementing mitigation strategies while maintaining compliance with security protocols.
- Process Documentation and Training:
- Documenting production processes and training teams to ensure continued operational effectiveness and adherence to established schedules.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to align production goals with engineering, logistics, and program office timelines.
- Program Reporting and Metrics Tracking:
- Reporting production performance metrics, identifying trends, and presenting actionable insights to leadership for continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, or program management within a DoD environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or relevant field. Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirements.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Expertise in production scheduling, workflow optimization, and supply chain management.
- Advanced knowledge of capacity planning and operations forecasting.
- Proven track record of mitigating production risks within fast-paced, highly secured environments.
- Program Management Skills:
- Experience in managing high complexity production programs.
- Proficiency in program and project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean Six Sigma).
- Tools and Platforms:
- Proficiency in production software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Strong data analysis skills using Excel, SQL, or Power BI.
Desired Qualifications
- TS/SCI clearance preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
- Familiarity with digital manufacturing operations and advanced supply chain modeling tools.
- Experience managing production programs for aerospace or defense systems.
- Experience integrating manufacturing platforms with mission-critical program timelines.
