Pay: $85000 - $110000 / year +10% annual target bonus

Location: Research Triangle Park | Raleigh, NC

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, coach, and provide ongoing training to Live Events AV Technicians and any AV support staff.
  • Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and offer timely feedback and mentoring.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture focused on accountability, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate ongoing cross-training and professional development to ensure staff versatility and coverage.

Event Operations & Technical Oversight

  • Liaison between Events and Facility Management teams to ensure room readiness including cleanliness, temperature and AV functionality
  • Oversee all aspects of AV operations for live and hybrid events, including audio, video, lighting, content management, and streaming solutions with WebEx board functionality focus.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex AV troubleshooting before and during events, ensuring rapid issue resolution.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to all AV standard operating procedures, event plans, and technical diagrams.
  • Monitor event execution in real time, proactively addressing technical, logistical, and staffing challenges.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for high-profile or complex events as required.

Resource Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop staff schedules that ensure coverage for all events, balancing business needs, staff availability, and budget constraints.
  • Manage time-off requests, shift swaps, and any unforeseen absences to maintain uninterrupted event support.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as the primary local AV contact for Cisco clients, facilities, IT, and event production teams.
  • Collaborate with event planners and producers to fully understand event objectives and technical requirements.
  • Communicate event status, risks, and post-event analyses to management and stakeholders.
  • Gather feedback from clients and staff to continuously enhance delivery service.

Equipment, Inventory & Budget

  • Oversee local AV inventory, ensure equipment is well maintained, updated, and in optimal working order.
  • Track equipment usage, conduct routine inspections, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Support the site and Client initiatives on technology upgrades, equipment purchasing, and cost controls.
  • Approve local AV supply and rental expenditures within budget guidelines.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify and implement improvements to AV workflows, documentation, and support procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and security requirements as well as corporate AV standards.
  • Track and report incidents, equipment failures, and operational metrics to senior management.
  • Provide oversight/support to property, Project & Procurement Teams in the delivery of maintenance, projects and vendor activities supporting critical operations and/or functions.
  • Partners with JLL Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Managers to ensure all vendor contracts are properly implemented and executed consistent with the identified scope of work and requirements of MSA.

Documentation & Training

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for local AV setups, troubleshooting guides, and event workflows.
  • Lead or assist in the training of new hires and the ongoing upskilling of team members.
  • Contribute to knowledge bases and share best practices with peer managers in other locations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in live event AV support with demonstrated expertise in audio, video, lighting, content management, and hybrid event technology.
  • 2+ years managing, supervising, or leading AV or technical teams.
  • Deep knowledge of AV signal flow, networking protocols, event streaming platforms, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience managing and operating a wide range of professional AV equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent events, tasks, and priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills; proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to lift and carry AV equipment up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in audio engineering, video production, lighting design, or a related field (e.g., CTS).
  • Experience with WebEx Board user set-up, connectivity and troubleshooting
  • Experience in a corporate, technology, or client-facing services environment.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices for virtual events.
  • Proficiency with event streaming and conferencing technologies such as vMix, OBS Studio, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex.
