Vitro Automotive Glass operates glass manufacturing plants, fabrication facilities and distribution centers worldwide that are solely focused on the production of automotive glass. This scale allows us to provide the quality and technology required for large volume OEM production, while bringing that same attention to detail and quality to our automotive replacement glass (ARG) operations.

Establish and lead a Sales and Operations Planning process that engages all functions of the organization and provides a forward-looking view of capacity utilization, sourcing, demand management, process development, inventory management and operations issues to assess strategic initiatives that drive smart business decisions in a timely fashion.


Responsibilities:



  • This position has responsibility for ensuring that the business segments within Vitro (Manufacturing, ARG, and OEM) are synchronized from a planning standpoint and that these three areas are optimizing the use of manufacturing capacity to meet the overall demand plans.
  • The incumbent must be able to make clear decisions, based on analysis. S/he must have the ability to apply good judgment when all data is not available to support a needed decision. S/he must be self-directed and have the courage to make decisions and set direction quickly.
  • The incumbent is required to implement best practices within the manufacturing plants or require changes within a materials management department to improve performance. The incumbent must be able to direct others. She must be able to arrive at best practices through facilitation and empowering others to develop solutions.
  • The incumbent must be able to work with all levels of the organization and all functional areas. This position requires a strong business acumen and ability to perform detailed financial analyses for decision making. The incumbent must have the ability to present complex analytical data to the highest levels of the organization clearly and concisely with recommended solutions. Additionally, s/he must have the ability to take multiple levels of complex data and perform sound analyses. The output of the analyses must be clear and succinct executive summaries. S/he must be comfortable dealing with complexity.
  • Implement and institutionalize world class materials management practices in the manufacturing locations through best practice implementation and tracking and managing to KPI metrics across all facilities to help achieve business goals/objectives in the materials management function of the business.
  • Maintain a capacity and sourcing plan that optimizes asset utilization and the lowest total achievable operating cost based on business awards, demands and operational dynamics (such as labor contracts, capital project work, line performance, etc.) to apply the most cost-effective sourcing strategies.
  • Manage the total Vitro inventories including the establishment of KPI targets to meet required service levels, measuring, reporting, monthly forecasting and reacting to deviations to manage the balance between working capital and service levels, while minimizing obsolescence.
  • Establish and maintain optimum materials management policies and procedures in the aftermarket business to achieve target service and inventory levels using appropriate forecasting, supply planning and DRP tools.
  • Generate capacity plans in the short, medium and long term working together with the commercial and marketing areas.
  • Align development plans for managers to the functional strategic plan to create structure, accountability, responsibility, and focus.


Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's degree in a science, math, or supply chain discipline is required (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a Supply Chain management or Operations Planning management role.
  • Additionally, a minimum five years of experience is required in a position successfully demonstrating management of multiple projects or programs simultaneously.
  • Experience with glass fabrication is preferred.
  • APICS certification is preferred.
