IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer in our Rock Island, IL or Macomb, IL office. The Civil Project Engineer will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer forlow to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff for the delivery of largerand high complexity projects. They will be responsible for working closely with a team ofengineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensurepositive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include engineering analysis, design andimplementation oversight of Civil Engineering projects. This position will be expected to workwithin the project's monetary budget, train, mentor, and collab rate with cross-functional teamsto meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Perform more complex calculations based on assignment i.e. hydraulic calculations,traffic projections, piling or rebar calculations, or calculations to balance site earthwork

  • Oversee and assist with water and sewer system designs for smaller private and largermunicipal systems

  • Prepare grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential siteplans

  • Coordinate and oversee the efforts for permit applications for a variety of municipalities

  • Lead design efforts for the analysis of Civil Engineering projects; Utilize engineeringsoftware and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations accordingto code requirements and IMEG standards

  • Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, andcommunicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationshipsthrough professional communication

  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Leadefforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlinesand objectives; Document design decisions and instructions from clients whilemonitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended

  • Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions; Collaborate withsenior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions

  • Provide in-process design reviews of Civil Engineering design, calculations, andspecifications; Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineeringdesigns and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and clientrequirements

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Civil Engineering; Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG

  • Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of engineering work; Interpretstate and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs; Collaborate withmultidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, todeliver integrated solutions that meet project goals

  • Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production oftechnical plans and specifications

  • Strong training and mentoring skills

  • Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals orgroups

  • Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required

  • 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the Civil Engineering andConstruction industry required.

Salary Range $86,000-100,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options. In addition, IMEG Corp. provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
