SUMMARY:

The AGV Lead oversees and supports material flow to/from the warehouse to designated production areas. The position also requires management of the AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicles) and activities across multiple software platforms. Additional duties include coordinating shift activities. Promoting safety in the workplace and following all safety rules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates activities of workers engaged in AGV activities for their shifts.
  • This position is responsible to lead, train, and hold accountable employees assigned to their shift.
  • Works with plant, maintenance and warehouse personnel to provide seamless material handling.
  • Basic troubleshooting, logging and reporting of issues relating to the AGV's. Assists in coordinating of routine and non-routine maintenance for the AGV's through maintenance work orders.
  • Manual Intervention and operation of the AGV's.
  • Load position corrections and clean-up of spills.
  • Maintenance of AGV floor markings / labeling.
  • Timely response to inquiries on status.
  • Manage workflow through Login software.
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Must have forklift certification.
  • Assists / fills in for Head Lead during vacations (shuffling product based on the Open Sales Order Report, works with AGV maintenance to ensure vehicles operate normally, makes sure the day to day items are taken care of).
  • Must follow all work rules and policies

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

GED or equivalent

One to three months related experience and/or training

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Accurate data entry and typing skills. Computer literate with experience in WINTEGRATE, ETRICC, WORD AND EXCEL

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The work environment can be a fast paced moving environment. The employee needs to be able to make quick decisions based on the information presented at the current time. This information can change based on situations / priorities many times throughout the course of a shift. All decisions made must foremost take into account any safety concerns. If the task is deemed to be unsafe, another method to complete the task needs to be identified before the task is started.
