Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing administrative assistance & support to technical staff, using various technologies, within the Distribution Design Department.

Position Responsibilities



  • General Responsibilities:

    • Provide strong customer service and respond to both internal & external queries.
    • Perform administrative support, data entry, records retrieval and document management.
    • Prepare working documents and written correspondence. Compile various reports.


  • Customer Service: Respond to internal and external queries.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels within LCEC. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts. Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner.
  • Functional Responsibilities:

    • Filter & distribute work orders to appropriate work queue.
    • Perform basic design functions using engineering templates.
    • Prepare documents (invoices, permit applications, underground letters, etc.).
    • Request surveys.
    • Identify meter locations.
    • Answer the duty phone on a rotating basis.
    • Maintain department calendar.
    • Assist with Right of Way (ROW) easements.
    • Request legal property description from customers.
    • Prepare basic easement documents.
    • Request easement searches.
    • Attach easements to work order vault or other company records management system.
    • Work in emergency storm situations (i.e. hurricanes) and work long hours (>12 hours per day) for many continuous days/weeks as needed.
    • Responsible for the performance of assigned work in accordance with LCEC standards and practices.




Education



  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • College or technical courses in related field (Preferred)


Experience



  • 2+ to 5 Years Clerical and/or administrative experience in a business environment, providing internal and external customer support. (Required)
  • 1+ to 2 Years Employment experience in the electrical utility industry. (Preferred)
  • 1+ to 2 Years Technical utility experience (read system maps, stake sheets, generate work orders/requests, etc.) (Preferred)


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Proficient with computer and MS Office Suite (Word & Excel). (Required)
  • Ability to demonstrate basic reading, writing & comprehension skills. (Required)
  • Effective written & verbal communication skills. (Required)
  • Administrative, technical, or operational experience and/or skills. Examples: Data entry, report writing, document/file research, construction drawing reading, drafting, right-of-way title/ easement processing, customer (internal/external) interaction, quality / process improvement tools & techniques. (Preferred)


Licenses



  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license. (Required)

STORM DUTY REQUIREMENTS.... Responding to storms may be considered a condition of employment: LCEC provides critical services to our community during an emergency. Employees may be required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our LCEC members. Employees are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's guidelines and procedures.
