Sr. Corporate Accountant

The Senior Corporate Accountant is a results-oriented professional who is ready to hit the ground running by providing support to the organization's Corporate Accounting team. Working in the Corporate Accounting department, this role has responsibilities in the month end accounting close, internal control compliance and special projects. Special projects include continuous improvement initiatives, acquisition accounting and integration support along with helping to develop and roll out new policies. The position requires occasional travel to various Roskam facilities. This is a great development role for an individual with ambitions to develop and move up in the department. Our expectation is this role will be in the office collaborating with other team members but maintains 100% flexibility as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports the Corporate Accounting team with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes including journal entries, analyzing data, preparing reconciliations, and investigating issues.

• Ensures the accuracy of the financial statements for one manufacturing plant by executing the overall month end close for the facility.

• Execute projects as needed to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, enhance internal controls, or integrate acquisitions.

• Supports adherence to corporate accounting policies & controls

• Supports the implementation of new accounting pronouncements

• Perform other accounting duties and support staff members as required

COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Procedures (GAAP)

• Working knowledge of internal controls

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to oversee and run projects and independently research & solve problems

• Attention to detail and ability to achieve timelines

• Strong Excel skills. Experience with Powerpoint, OneStream, PowerBi and/or Dynamics AX is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BA/BS or equivalent in accounting or any related field

• 5+ years of experience in Accounting roles

• Public accounting experience and a CPA is a plus
