Technical Specialist IIIin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: DUTIES: Serve as a technical expert on primary power generation and distribution. Work with the development and certification of electrical systems for company aircraft, focusing on power generation, distribution, and batteries. Work on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. Be responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope. Make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas. Act independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. Work under consultative direction. Use independent judgment to accomplish objectives. Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Conceive and plan investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field required. Thirteen years of experience in job offered or a related engineering position required, including any experience with: aircraft battery system integration and certification requirements for Part 25 aircraft; performing electrical load analysis; designing electrical power systems; troubleshooting techniques to diagnose electrical power system failures; embedded electrical systems including propulsion, generation, conversion, and distribution; electric propulsion and energy storage systems development and certification; electrical hardware including contactors, relays, and connectors for high and low voltage; functional and qualification tests conducted in-house and at laboratories; serving as a team leader for electrical systems with technical and management responsibilities; safety assessment and system integration; electrical propulsion using Agile methodology; ground and flight test experience including test means, procedures, results, and requirements; international experience as a supplier acting as electrical equipment integrator; and with aeronautical standards Part 25, DO 160G, DO1788, DO254, and ARP4754. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field and thirteen years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field and eleven years of the above-listed experience or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field and nine years of the above-listed experience. Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
