Job Description

Nature and Level of Work
Perform skilled work on a technical level in the HVAC field involving repair and maintenance of HVAC systems. All work is subject to spot checking and inspection for conformance to specifications and accepted standards of the trade.

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on rotating equipment including pumps, air compressors, fans and air handling units with the goal of assuring a minimum of 90 days of reliable, trouble free operations. Assist with monitoring pre- and final-filter loading conditions and replace when necessary to maintain good indoor air quality in campus buildings. Assist with monitoring drive belts wear condition and judge when replacement is required. Assist with monitoring shave conditions and diagnose and replace when excessive wear is found.

Assist with surveying campus equipment periodically to confirm equipment data regarding motor types, sizes, sheaves, belts and filters are correct.

Clean, maintain, safely operate and properly store all tools and equipment.

Observe and enforce all safety requirements related to equipment operation.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift

7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday

Minimum Qualifications

* A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is required.
* Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver's license may be required.
* Ability on a daily basis to:
- Grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate and otherwise use small to large trade tools and equipment.
- Grasp, lift, carry and set down heavy objects weighing from 50-80 pounds.
- Grasp, turn, twist, pull, push, lift and otherwise move equipment, controls, parts, etc.
- Visually assess maintenance, construction and repair needs.
- Climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, stairs.

Preferred Qualifications

A valid driver's license which will allow the legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri is required.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.17 - $21.50 per hour

Grade: GGS-C
