Posting Summary
Rutgers The State University is seeking a Research Support Associate in the Rutgers Center for Advanced Biotechnology & Medicine of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Reporting to the Program Manager of the New Jersey Kids Study, the Research Support Associate will perform tasks related to participant recruitment, consent, follow-up and retention throughout the study. These tasks will require extensive use of online data management and tracking systems. The Research Support Associate will help support the research team in the assembly and shipment of biospecimen collection kits to and from study participants. Work will mostly be performed onsite, with the possibility of remote work when feasible according to the study's needs.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Accurately documents all contact with participants using online data systems and tracking spreadsheets.
  • Tracks participant progress in completing study activities and provides follow-up as needed.
  • Coordinates the mailing and delivery of biosample kits to participants according to established study timelines.
  • Schedules and conducts virtual meetings with participants related to study consent and questions.
  • Assists with data collection, database management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains quality control standards to preserve the integrity of data and findings.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, public health or a related field.
  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Must have CITI certification in human subjects research.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite as well as the ability to utilize database systems such as Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to record and maintain study data in a computerized format.
  • Works with a high level of responsibility to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and without ongoing direct supervision.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent writing skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with online study data management system.
  • Previous experience with electronic medical records systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Extensive sitting, standing, talking, listening and reading.
  • The ability to lift 15 pounds for the preparation of biospecimen kits is required.

  • Active environment with moderate noise and extensive interaction with research study participants, requiring the ability to respond flexibly to individual needs
