Overview
Illinois CancerCare is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Registrar, also known as Check-In Receptionist, to join our Peoria clinic team. As a key member of our front office team, you'll be the first point of contact for patients and guests, helping ensure a smooth and welcoming experience from check-in through registration. You'll play a key role in supporting our mission by accurately collecting patient information, verifying insurance, and welcoming patients while delivering exceptional customer service. - Hiring Pay Range: $15.00-$21.00 per hour
(Based on experience, education, and other factors)

Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Greet and check in patients, families, and visitors at our Peoria clinic.
- Complete new patient registration, including verifying demographics, collecting insurance details, and uploading documents to the EMR and billing systems.
- Explain and obtain signatures for required forms (HIPAA, Financial Agreement, E-Prescribing, etc.).
- Escort patients to designated areas such as labs, pharmacy, or treatment pods.
- Monitor schedules and insurance eligibility software for updates and changes.
- Identify potential financial hardship cases and provide appropriate information.
- Assist with billing questions, walk-ins, and seasonal insurance updates.
- Support all roles within the Patient Registration Team, including scheduling and front desk duties.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and Illinois CancerCare policies.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
