Product Designer, Easton, PA GENERAL SUMMARY: This role is responsible for creating engaging and imaginative experiences that inspire creativity through artistic expression, unique play patterns, and the thoughtful integration of technology. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate innovative product concepts by presenting ideas through sketches, compelling and original play patterns, renderings, physical models and prototypes.
- Design products that are both creatively exciting and commercially relevant to consumers and the trade.
- Create prototypes using model shop tools, including foam core construction, spray painting, spray-mounted presentation boards, 3D printers. Our philosophy - make ideas tangible.
- Deliver design work on time, aligned with product development timelines and key milestone schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, internal and external, and both domestic and international vendors to guide products from concept through production.
- Work within established budgets while partnering with teams across engineering, R&D, marketing, sourcing, and operations.
- Actively contribute to and lead creative brainstorming sessions to spark new product ideas and enhancements.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Toy Design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in product design and development, ideally within a corporate or brand-driven environment. Experience with consumer products-particularly children's art supplies, stationery, toy, or CPG-is strongly preferred.
- Experience taking products from concept through production, including working with overseas vendors, is a strong plus
- Strong conceptual thinking and a passion for creating engaging, hands-on experiences for children.
- Ability to translate abstract ideas into tangible product designs through sketching, rendering, and prototyping.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, including:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Rhino (3D modeling)
- KeyShot (rendering)
- SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software (a plus)
- Experience with model-making tools and techniques, including foam core construction, hand tools, and basic spray painting.
- Excellent verbal and visual communication skills; able to clearly present and justify design decisions to cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset and comfort working in multidisciplinary teams across design, marketing, R&D, engineering, and sourcing.
- Mechatronics background preferred, with working knowledge of basic engineering principles, manufacturing methods, and experience collaborating with offshore vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to lead product innovation efforts with originality, strategic thinking, and a self-starting mindset-actively identifying opportunities and pushing creative boundaries without waiting for direction.
- Must be able to effectively use all Microsoft office productivity applications (Ex: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

- This position is based at our corporate office in Pennsylvania and follows a hybrid schedule: three days in-office and two days remote each week.
- The role involves both office-based work (computer and drafting board) and hands-on time in the model shop.
- Must be comfortable using basic hand tools, foam core cutting equipment, and working in a paint booth environment.
