Job Description Summary

The Program Associate will support senior leadership to plan and execute on the Southern California Office's operations and programmatic efforts. The Program Associate will provide event support including for our signature event, the annual Southland Social fundraiser, as well as other convenings, conferences, and webinars. The Program Associate will manage the Southern California Office's grantmaking programs/portfolio, which includes HUD's Capacity Building for Community Development and Affordable Housing Program (also known as the Section 4 program). The Program Associate will also support various programs in the office, including Capital Solutions and Partnerships, Supportive Housing, and Sustainable Connected Communities. This work includes providing technical assistance and application support, supporting collaboratives, researching and writing, reports, file management, as well as executing core activities of the various programs. The Program Associate will support the market leader and other senior leadership by acting as primary point of contact for the office with organizations, vendors, contractors and others outside of Enterprise, scheduling internal and external meetings, filing expense reports, and maintaining the office environment.

This individual will be able to grow their knowledge and experience in affordable housing and community development, operations and fundraising in the non-profit sector, and program development and implementation with a creative, supportive team.

The Program Associate will report to the Market Leader.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Program Support and Partner Capacity Building (50%): Work closely with program staff and senior leadership to support various programmatic work, which may include Preservation, Regional Initiatives, and Building Sustainable Communities. Manageall activities related toEnterprise Southern Californiadevelopercapacity building grant programs including Section 4 and new programs. Specific tasks include organizing internal grant selection committees and scoringprocesses, providingtechnical assistance and resources to local nonprofit community development organizations, organizing peer exchanges, tracking grant outcomes and deliverables, drafting reports, file and resource library management, leading consultant procurement efforts, and liaising with nationalgrantmakingefforts. Tasks may include:

  • Technical Assistance.Supportthe delivery of technical assistance to public agencies and community-based organizations pursuing preservationand productionstrategies. This includescreatingimplementation plans, performing consultations, drafting workshop materials, and administeringgrants andcontracts.

  • Collaborative Support.Support collaborative relationships - coalitions for which Enterprise serves as a backbone organization or convener.Thisincludeshandling logistics, agendas and workplan development,notetaking,andcreatingmeeting materials.

  • Research, Writing and Data Analysis.Research, write, and summarize best practices, programs, and policies for preservation and production including assisting with writing blogs and other communication materials.

  • Event Support & Special Projects (30%): Support the market leader and other senior leadership by acting as primary point of contact for the office with organizations, building management, vendors, contractors and others outside of Enterprise, scheduling internal and external meetings, filing expense reports, coordinating office events, and maintaining the office environment.

  • Event Support & Special Projects (20%): Work closely with staff to organize our annual fundraiser, the Southland Social, and other convenings and conferences. Assist with donor prospect research, communication, and stewardship, coordinate logistical support of the Southern California Leadership Council, and assist with other fundraising relatedtasks. This includes logistics, agenda and workplandevelopment, notetaking, and creating meeting materialsandpresentations. Help coordinate and stage webinars, focus groups, andother events.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree and and 4-6 years related experience required or an Undergraduate degree with 0-2 years related experience.

  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for moving tasks forward through to completion

  • Experience and/or interest in growing skills in layout and design as well as communications

  • Interest in affordable housing and policy advocacy

  • Strong commitment to Enterprise's mission

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM a plus

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including experience and/or interest in developing systems to keep complex processes organized and easy to use

  • Strong writing skills geared towards audiences such as funders, nonprofit partners, local government

  • Undergraduate degree in public policy, political science, economics, urban planning, communications, journalism, or related field or two (2) years of relevant experience, which could include internships or volunteer work

  • Willingness to bring creativity and problem-solving to the work

  • Willingness to work as an effective, enthusiastic member of a team in a dynamic environment

The base hourly range for this role is $33 to $41/hour, depending on level of skills and experience.

The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
