Meet the Team

Commerce Engineering supports end-to-end commerce for Cisco, from high volume transactional websites and APIs connecting our partners, sellers and suppliers, to core financials, seller compensation, and partner incentive platforms. Commerce Engineering is at the heart of Cisco's experience transformation for partners and the move to a recurring revenue business model. When you work with us, you'll be part of a highly committed, energetic and hardworking team who's equally passionate about delivering business outcomes and the craft of software engineering.

The Engineering Productivity team within Commerce Engineering is tasked with creating an environment where Cisco IT engineers can deliver the best work of their lives. We achieve this by focusing on the end-to-end engineering lifecycle of Build, Test, Release, Operate & Measure. We have a range of tools (with a focus on AI), techniques, platforms and frameworks that we use to remove friction and accelerate the Build Test Release Operate Measure cycle.

Your Impact

A Leader, Engineering Project & Program Management in our Engineering Productivity team plays a crucial role in reducing engineering friction and maximizing the impact of AI-powered productivity tools across the Cisco IT engineering community.

You and your team of Engineering Capability Project Leads will be responsible for the successful delivery of key engineering productivity programs from initial discovery all the way to the associated change management and rollout across Cisco IT engineering teams.

You will also work with the Engineering Productivity team to measure adoption, identify the areas within Cisco IT having the most gains and helping to amplify and expand the usage of engineering productivity tools and techniques.

As a member of our broader Engineering Productivity team, you will also promote agile best practices, share knowledge, eliminate obstacles, and help enhance the engineer experience across the Cisco IT engineering community.

You will have a strong track record of delivering large IT initiatives to broad user groups, growing and influencing others, working with all levels of senior and executive leadership, and fostering the psychological safety and happiness of members of your team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive and manage the successful delivery of large, complex programs to achieve specific business goals related to engineering productivity including the communication, change management and program support aspects.
  • Partner with Cisco IT Executives and Engineering Managers to establish a clear understanding of the vision, purpose and expected benefits of engineering productivity programs.
  • Facilitate agile planning sessions to enable Engineering Productivity teams to breakdown large, complex programs into agile releases with epics, features and stories.
  • Help measure and track the impact of AI tools on engineering productivity, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Capture and share agile program management standards and best practices.
  • Lead with an experience and design mindset to help create a best-in-class developer experience at Cisco IT.
  • Be an agile program management and career development mentor for other Project Managers, Portfolio Managers and Scrum Leads.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or any related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience delivering projects with agile methodologies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an agile Portfolio Management role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience running major IT programs in a large corporate environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence -- using simple communications that convey complex concepts in a compelling, concise, and creative way.
  • Ability to constructively challenge existing ways of working and drive productivity outcomes within engineering teams in dynamic large scale digital organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in a formal people leadership role.
