Description & Requirements As a student associate at Forvis Mazars, you will gain valuable experience that may help you decide whether you want to start your career in assurance or tax, or even whether public accounting is right for you. You will work on client engagements similar to those assigned to our entry-level associates, gaining exposure to a variety of industries and testing out your technical know-how. You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skillset. Forvis Mazars Student Associate Program is an excellent opportunity for a sophomore or junior accounting student who would like to gain valuable experience in the assurance department. This program also offers potential opportunities for full-time employment and career advancement after graduation. How you will contribute: As a member of the Assurance team, you will gain valuable experience and exposure to a variety of projects, as well as be able to test your technical know-how You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skillset We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and: Are highly detail-oriented Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities Commitment to client service and maintaining confidentiality Strong organization and time management abilities Strong computer skills Ability to balance academic schedule with the workload for multiple clients and projects while consistently meeting deadlines Hours Requirement: We are able to be flexible with your school schedule providing you are able to: Accommodate our normal business hours of Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm Have the ability to work each day of the week (M-F) Commit to at least 15-25 hours per week during the Academic year 20+ hours per week during the summer. Must have reliable transportation to and from your assigned office and be able to attend off-site meetings and events in person. Minimum Requirements: Working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Fluency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word Applicants for positions with Forvis Mazars must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. New Jersey Wage Transparency Pursuant to New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the salary range displayed is for the New Jersey market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Positions that are non-exempt will be eligible for overtime pay compensable at a rate of one and a half times the hourly rate for any hours worked over 40 in a work week. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
