About the Role

OpenGov is seeking a dynamic Sr. Manager of Enterprise AI to lead and scale our AI delivery engine across Go-To-Market (GTM), G&A, and internal operations. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and systems, blending technical fluency with business acumen to deliver scalable, impactful AI-powered solutions.

You will partner with GTM, G&A, and other business leaders to identify and deliver high-impact use cases, then lead implementation across platforms like Salesforce, Snowflake, Slack, Workato, ChatGPT/OpenAI and other AI platforms. This is not a product or R&D role-it's a business execution role requiring deep system knowledge, program leadership, technical skills and a strong bias for action. You'll be both an architect and a builder, working with a cross-functional team to launch intelligent automations, agents, and copilots that measurably improve how teams operate.

Key Responsibilities

Business Execution

  • Partner with GTM, G&A, and operational teams to identify and prioritize AI use cases that drive measurable business impact.

  • Translate strategic objectives into scalable automation programs and intelligent workflows.

  • Collaborate with Enablement and Operations teams to support adoption efforts through training, documentation, and change management.

  • Align with cross-functional stakeholders to validate solution design, test key workflows, and define KPIs in partnership with business owners to measure success.

  • Promote visibility and adoption of AI initiatives through stakeholder demos, performance updates, and regular communication touchpoints.

Technical Program Ownership

  • Oversee the full AI solution lifecycle including planning, development, deployment, performance tracking, and continuous improvement to ensure long-term sustainability and alignment with business goals.

  • Architect and lead the development of OpenGov's AI operations stack, including agent orchestration, automation frameworks, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and Enterprise Search.

  • Co-own the strategic roadmap for AI systems in collaboration with Technical and Operations leadership.

  • Oversee sprint planning, backlog grooming, prioritization, and execution across AI initiatives to ensure timely and high-impact delivery.

  • Build scalable systems such as RAG pipelines, prompt libraries, and feedback loops to support intelligent workflows and high-reliability agents.

  • Be hands-on in modern platforms and tools like Snowflake, dbt, Workato, agent orchestration tooling/platforms, OpenAI APIs, and Slack integrations.

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team including a Platform/Data Engineer, Solutions Architect, and AI Analyst/Prompt Engineer.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) Service

  • Lead development and evolution of OpenGov's internal Model Context Protocol (MCP) service-the orchestration and context-routing backbone for AI agents and orchestration.

  • Define SLOs and architectural standards for scalability, security, accuracy and reliability.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Systems, Data Engineering, IT Engineering, and Security teams to evolve MCP into a robust self-service layer.

Governance, Reliability & Monitoring

  • Support baseline AI governance: auditability, access controls, escalation paths, and SLAs.

  • Implement systems to track AI agent adoption, reliability, performance, accuracy and platform usage.

  • Partner with BI teams to surface insights on adoption and business value.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years in Business Systems, GTM Operations, or Enterprise Automation, with 2+ years in applied AI or RPA/intelligent automation.

  • Strong record of leading cross-functional programs that improved sales velocity, customer support efficiency, or financial ops.

  • Deep experience with Snowflake, dbt, Workato, Salesforce, Slack, and OpenAI integrations.

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise systems including Salesforce, Netsuite, Workday, Atlassian, Outreach, Gong, Ashby and Google Workspace (G-Suite).

  • Technical ability to scope and execute: build pipelines, debug integrations, and optimize prompt/agent performance.

  • Experience partnering with GTM, G&A and other business operations stakeholders to define and execute systems, data and automation strategies.

Preferred

  • 5+ Years of experience working in Enterprise SaaS

  • Familiarity with agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Airia, CrewAI)

  • Experience in DevOps, MLOps, or platform engineering contexts

  • Experience in public sector, govtech, or compliance-heavy environments

  • Background in prompt engineering and open-source AI tooling

$170k - $220k

On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate's geographical location.
