DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Clerk Typist 2, you will xerox and fax consumer referrals to designated service vendors, maintaining an accurate log of all referrals that leave the aging office. Work includes typing and sending welcome letters to new consumers explaining the newly created care managers, retrieving weekly vendor status sheets, verifying the name of the assigned care manager in the agency database, and distributing information to staff. This position obtains and distributes monthly financial reports for representative payee consumers. Your organizational skills will be key as you will be tasked to check the main fax machine four times daily and distribute faxes to appropriate staff. You will have the opportunity to act as a backup to other clerical support staff in the social services units. Other duties to include but not limited to:
- Operating the secondary switchboard of overflow calls coming into the agency
- Balancing the daily postage machine and creating the daily absentee list as needed
- Distributing incoming mail on a rotating basis
- Attending seminars, webinars or workshops related to job duties
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Luzerne-Wyoming County. If no eligible candidates who live within Luzerne-Wyoming County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
