Decypher is seeking a Medical Office Clerk - General Surgery Clinic to support Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications



  • Education/Degree: High School Degree General Educational Development (GED) equivalency,

Responsibilities



  • Greets patients/visitors at a clinic front desk; checks in patients for patient encounter.
  • Answers main office phone line.
  • Schedules medical appointments and determines patient eligibility for services as needed.
  • Obtains documentation as requested by healthcare providers.
  • Performs other administrative and clerical duties in support of the medical care and operational support.
  • Creates appointment schedules and templates in patient appointment computer system.
  • Conducts end-of-day process and close of business and resolves any delinquent or pending appointments in computer system.
  • Screen, record and redirect telephone calls each month. Messages shall be taken, and information relayed to appropriate staff members within 30 minutes.
  • Check-in patients for either scheduled or walk-in appointments. Upon check-in, the contractor shall gather/verify demographic information (name, address, home/work telephone numbers, sponsor SSN, patient SSN, date of birth and insurance information.)
  • Appropriately initiate approximately T-cons. Each T-con takes approximately 5 minutes to enter.
  • Pull patient files the day prior to a scheduled appointment and update with any new information.
  • Print out prescriptions or requested records and place them in the correct patient's chart for the medical staff to reconcile patients' medications.
