Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.

Summary: The Business Development Manager for US Pet & Health is responsible for delivering on the Pet and Health Department's goals by establishing new and growing existing customer base. This role will work across the Trident organization to bring new products to market as needed while also leveraging existing products to achieve our goals.

  • Support strategic planning and execution of business objectives for health and pet products globally
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customer base to drive base business, while identifying and developing new opportunities, partnerships and alliances in the marketplace to expand growth.
  • Work cross functionally to support development of new products and solutions for the business unit
  • Drive sales and profitability through supporting market positioning, product development and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions and strategies to meet customer and market needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal team members, broker partners and support contacts to deliver business results with customers.
  • Combine entrepreneurial spirit with managerial discipline to deliver both on strategic direction while achieving day to day business deliverables with consistency.
  • Lead by example and demonstrate the competencies of a leader. Model the culture, mission and values of TSC.
  • Monitor market trends to consistently evaluate and proactively execute against opportunities and risks.

This is a an exempt position with an annualized salaryrange of $105,000 to $140,000.

Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in business development, marketing, category management, brand management, operations, strategy, or related functions.
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience.

Preferred education and experience

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficiency in CRM software
  • Strategic thinking and market analysis capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of the company's industry and competitive landscape.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to identify new market opportunities.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
