What You'll Do: Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in total compliance with all Vulcan policies and procedures. Conducts regular and effective safety meetings. Supervise. Supervises work of ready-mix truck drivers and if necessary maintenance and production employees. Perform functions of Plant Supervisor and Production Manager when necessary. Works with Plant Supervisors, Production Managers, and Quality Control to ensure a quality product is delivered to the customer. Manage Expectation. Sets operating priorities with a focus on KPI's and efficiencies, regularly reviewing individual and team results compared to goals. Maximize plant yard and delivery efficiencies with a focus on eliminating factors that create bottlenecks. Understand financial implications of daily business decisions. Ensure Inspections. Ensures that all employees conduct daily pre-shift inspections on their equipment. Ensures that pre-shift inspections are accurately completed and processed. Ensures proper preventative maintenance and repair to Vulcan standards. Train. Participate in selection, hiring, training, and performance management process. Conducts effective employee onboarding ensuring employees are properly task trained, site-specific trained, and understand job/company expectations. Communicate Effectively. Maintain high visibility and communicate regularly with employees, both at the facilities and job sites. Work to build positive attitudes through good leadership and employee engagement. Build relationships with customers through pre-pour meetings, job site engagement, and prompt follow-up on customer concerns. Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Skills You'll Need: Education. Bachelor's Degree preferred with consideration for requisite experience. Experience. Completion of Vulcan's Concrete Operations Training Program. Requisite experience and training in ready mix concrete. Working knowledge of production, transport, and delivery of ready mix concrete. Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations. Leadership and Management Skills. Must be able to provide strong leadership and mentorship to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships. Problem-Solving Skills. Must have the ability to work independently and problem solve while working alone or as part of a team. Communication. Excellent communication skills are required. The base salary range for this role is between $79,500 - $111,300 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
