The North Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Department is an integral component of the North Carolina Neurosciences and Spine Center at Rex Hospital. Our vision centers on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care through a multidisciplinary collaborative approach that addresses the diverse needs and specialties of our patients.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled nurse to join our dynamic team and support our program's continued growth and excellence. This role offers the opportunity to work within a close-knit, collaborative environment where your contributions directly impact patient outcomes and team success.

Schedule: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday

Team Environment: Our newly hired nurse will collaborate with an exceptional team of physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), medical assistants, and administrative staff to deliver outstanding care for patients with complex neurological and spine conditions. We foster a culture that values both professional autonomy and collaborative teamwork within an intimate, flexible, and supportive work environment.

This position qualifies for a $10,000 commitment incentive paid out over 2 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct clinic support and patient care assistance Manage patient phone calls and messages
  • Triage with clinical judgment Process and coordinate prescription refills Prepare patients for procedures and manage scheduling logistics
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for hospital consultation requests
  • Coordinate comprehensive care plans on behalf of our provider team
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare team members

Other information:
Education Requirements:
* Diploma, Associate Degree (ADN) or Bachelors Degree (BSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Licensed to practice as Registered Nurse in North Carolina. BCLS.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Previous experience in physician office, urgent care, emergency department preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures. Ability to document clinical information. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from patients, physicians, family members, and other Rex staff. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
