This Position reports to:

Quality Inspection Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system, including conducting audits, establishing controls, training on tools and methodologies. Each day, you will support activities related to quality management within the organizational unit. You will also showcase your expertise by reporting quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and customer cases and maintaining process documentation.

The work model for the role is: Onsite at Pinetops, NC

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Reporting quality issues data, ensuring adherence to quality management system at all stages.

  • Acquiring and reporting quality metrics and KPIs accurately and in a timely manner to facilitate the analysis and management of local processes.

  • Utilizing measurement systems to produce data that reflect the accurate characteristics of materials, products, systems, and processes.

  • Training local operational teams on relevant elements of quality management, supporting implementation, and promoting opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree PLUS minimum 2 years manufacturing experience OR Associate degree PLUS minimum 4 years manufacturing experience, OR High School Diploma or GED required PLUS minimum 6 years manufacturing work experience.

  • MS Office and Excel required; SAP, a plus

  • Ability to work independently (self-motivated and self-directed) and successful at managing multiple priorities and tasks with good verbal and written communication in English

  • Must be able to read blueprints and utilize testing equipment, i.e., calipers, tape measure, etc.

  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting and stretching, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
