The Opportunity: The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the company and its related business entities. This role will perform a range of accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and budgeting support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in accounting practices, preferably in the hospitality or private club industry.

Duties and Functions



  • Prepare and record journal entries for general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions monthly.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Process accounts payable as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for club operations.
  • Support payroll processing and related journal entries as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including club management, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Continuously seek improvements in accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.
  • Maintain construction budgets for ongoing projects with monthly actuals.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.



Qualification Standards



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience; experience in hospitality, private club, or real estate industry is a plus.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
