Job Objective:
Assists the Accounting Supervisor in the preparation and recording of the company's monthly marketing and trading activities.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Confirm and verify volume and price data with third party counterparts prior to monthly settlements in WolfePak.
  • Prepare and send out monthly purchase and sales statements.
  • Field third party inquiries concerning assigned customers.
  • Maintain trucking logs of transactions to ensure vendor payments are made accurately and timely with appropriate department authorizations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries to record transactions into the general ledger system and prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the validity of financial positions and operating results, with emphasis on open receivables and payables.
  • Prepare monthly regulatory reports as directed.
  • Gather appropriate transactional detail for third party audit requests.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Completes special projects related to marketing accounting as assigned.
  • Assist in the monthly severance tax calculations, filings and remittances.
  • Maintains employee confidence and corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
  • Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
  • Supports company vision and mission.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of industry related or past public accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in transactional accounting, including analyzing debits and credits and understanding balance sheet and income statement entries.
  • Analytical and detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in data management including spreadsheet proficiency.
  • Ability to solve problems accurately.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
    • Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • Preferred: SAP, WolfePak

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting; other business-related degrees will be considered.
