Summary

The Predictive Maintenance Department has an opportunity for aPredictive Maintenance Technician.As the Technician, you will perform complex thermography and/or vibration predictive maintenance tests and recordsdiagnostic results from various types of equipment. You will also provide technical and analytical support to Operations, Maintenance, System and Procurement Engineering departments while demonstrating the ability to accurately analyze/interpret test data results.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering anda minimum of one year of utility experience.
  • OR three years related experience.
  • Must have knowledge of predictive maintenance computerized data systems.
  • Requires understanding of predictive maintenance principles, concepts, techniques, and practices.
  • Valid Driver's License Required. (This position requires up to 40% travel)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • A minimum of one year of utility experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Level 1 or above Infrared (IR) certification
  • Vibration Tech I
  • FAA Part 107 License

Major Accountabilities

1) Assists in establishing conditions and performing testing using test systems under the direction of a qualified technician.

2) Assists in performing surveillance and predictive maintenance testing to measure plant efficiency under the direction of a qualified technician.

3) Assists in maintaining a high level of proficiency in the usage, application, and care of a wide variety of moderately complex measuring and test equipment under the direction of a qualified technician.

4) Assists a qualified technician in obtaining necessary information from staff engineers, technical publications, plant drawings, vendors, and manufacturers for plant equipment and performance of surveillance and predictive maintenance testing.

5) Works with a qualified technician in the performance of detailed testing, assists in preparation of maintenance history records, and reports.

6) Performs predictive maintenance activities as directed.

7) Ability to achieve accurate and reproducible test results.

8) Ability to perform assigned duties independently with limited supervision.

9) Operate, calibrate and maintain analytical instrumentation as directed.

10) Participate in training programs and seminars and successfully complete documented training programs requirements.

CIP Requirement:

This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.
