What you will do

Under supervision, an HVAC Electrical Controls Installer performs routine installation and checkout on a variety of systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings, and personal analysis. The HVAC Electrical Controls Installer works with "Prime" electrical contractors as required. The Installer develops a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.

How you will do it

• Install raceways, cables and wiring to meet local or national codes, standards, and customer system requirements.
• Mount and terminate controls equipment as needed.
• May assist sales with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects.
• Check out wiring and terminations with test instruments as needed.
• Keep management informed of job needs, progress and issues.
• Complete paperwork, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Provides feedback to JCI Engineering on changes and keeps as-built drawings current.
• Resolve job site conflicts regarding installation issues or escalate concerns to management as required.
• Communicate with the customer as necessary upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Adhere to Johnson Controls' safety programs and policies.
• Foster a collaborative work environment by effectively communicating, actively listening, and contributing positively to team dynamics.
• Assist system technicians with testing and commissioning of equipment and controls.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required

• Electrical apprenticeship, or formal training in electrical installation techniques.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record.
• Demonstrated ability to bend and install conduits per local codes.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings, both construction drawings and electrical wiring schematics.
• Working knowledge and experience of local codes as it applies to controls.
• Experienced in scope determination of installation materials.
• Comfortable with working independently.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills and smart phone skills.
• Must pass drug and background screens.
• Able and willing to support project needs within a 60-mile radius of Chattanooga, TN.
• Able and willing to work weekends and after scheduled shifts if required.

Preferred

• Four (4) years' experience directly with controls installations.
