Description

The Loan Operations Collection Department is looking for a self-motivated, results-oriented and adaptable Collection Specialist with strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to join our team. The first phase of responsibility is to contact customers, assist in the resolution of present debts and encourage timely payments in plans put into place. The Collection Specialist should have strong negotiation skills and be able to work within MidFirst Bank's policy and regulatory requirements to assist customers in successfully honoring their financial responsibilities.

Additionally, this individual will be an integral part of the overall collection team and will be expected to support other products such as charged-off credit cards, active credit cards or loans if volumes or delinquency rates demand. There are also opportunities to work on other projects and duties as assigned.

Strong analytical and process evaluation skills are critical to the position as the selected candidate will assist with process improvements, which may include identifying process gaps and efficiency gains through dialer adjustments. Along with identifying and participating in the design of improved processes, the Agent along with the team will manage the portfolio to protect the bank's interest and assure compliance with all regulatory and state laws.

Collection Calls

Assisting the department in other responsibilities. The daily Non-Post report and other opportunities that may present themselves from within the department.

Must Possess Strong working knowledge of:



  • Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)
  • Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
  • Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA)
  • Unfair, Deceptive, Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP)
  • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA)
  • The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency 2000-20 (OCC 2000-20)
  • Health Insurance Portability and accountability Act (HIPAA)



Position Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years experience as a Collection Specialist to be considered.

Additional qualifications include:



  • Strong negotiation skills with knowledge of various collection techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate various computer software
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple on-going assignments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal, written and telephone communication skills, with ability to interact professionally with others in the Collections Department, Loan Operations and customers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond well to change

Qualifications
Education
High School (required)
Experience
Strong knowledge of: TCPA, FDCPA, SCRA, UDAAP, RESPA, OCC 2000-20, HIPPA (required)
2 - 4 years: Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role (required)
