Job Description

Overview of the Position:


The Software Engineer I will participate with team members to improve business processes through new (modern) software, maintain and enhance existing software, and evaluate third-party applications/tools as required by end users, departments & business units. This position will perform program design, coding, system integration, development and execution of test plans, documentation and change management.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Communicate with End Users/Business Leader to gather business requirements
  • Develop new software programs and enhance/change existing software to meet business requirements and project requests.
  • Troubleshoot and research software and data as requested by our business.
  • Apply Agile/SCRUM principles.
  • Participate in aligning custom business software with company growth strategies, market trends, acquisitions, etc.


Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Some programming experience through training, school or work.
  • Some SQL and database experience
  • Preferred EDI ANSI X12 or ATA Spec2000
  • Preferred experience with .NET, PHP, Perl, Java, J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML
  • Preferred experience with Low Code / Rapid Develop / Workflow platforms (OutSystems, Appian, TeamCenter, Enovia, AWS HoneyCode, Builder.ai)
  • Preferred experience with Infor and M3 ERP systems
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements:


Bachelor's/Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent with 2 years software development experience.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
