Overview
The successful applicant will work with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (
EBCI) Tribal Members and with community, state, regional, and federal partners that serve Tribal Members to develop and maintain opportunities that support Local Food Systems.
Applicant should be familiar with basic evaluation practices and be comfortable supplying data for grant reporting. The position will be part of a highly collaborative team of community leaders and professionals working on tight timelines to meet current food systems project needs. The position will be working in collaborative team settings and be goal driven, and have a value-based work ethic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This requires a close collaboration with the EBCI Extension Director and other community partners to plan and deliver
- Training targeted to producers, region-wide extension agents, and other regional stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial development.
- Helping food and farming businesses identify training and resource needs to expand and grow their business.

8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Nights and weekends as required. |
Minimum Experience/Education |
A Bachelor's degree in an agricultural related field is required; Master's degree preferred. The Temporary County Extension Agent has primary responsibility for planning, executing, and evaluating programs within assigned areas of program responsibility. The Temporary County Extension Agent cooperates with colleagues in the North Carolina Cooperative Extension and county leaders in performing assigned responsibilities. The performance of assigned responsibilities is governed by the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension. |
