About the Job

Digital Content Specialist, University of Minnesota Law School
Part-Time: Temporary/Casual (Up to 14 hours per week)
(Hybrid/Remote)

Description:
The University of Minnesota Law School seeks a part-time digital content specialist to support accessibility efforts, multiple web projects, and digital communications. This position will assist in efforts to meet University and federal digital accessibility standards, coordinate and support content migrations for specific web projects, and work with departments and the communications team to remediate digital documents and update web content. Reporting to the digital and multimedia manager, the digital content specialist is a member of the Law School's communications team.

Digital Content Accessibility (50%)

  • Provide remediation of faculty CVs, departmental documents, PDFs, and other digital content
  • Provide remediation support & guidance to Law School departments
  • Remediate or coordinate remediation of past issues of Minnesota Law magazine

Website Support (45%)

  • Assist with the migration of Google and Wordpress sites to the Drupal platform
  • Assist with staff, faculty, adjunct/affiliate directory updates
  • Correct or troubleshoot accessibility errors/warnings on the Law School website
  • Monitor the Editoria11y reports

Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Completed BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years
  • Proficient in Drupal 10+ content management system
  • Demonstrated understanding of University and federal digital accessibility standards
  • Demonstrated experience managing content for websites
  • Demonstrated experience with the Google Drive suite of products (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with multiple priorities and plan accordingly

Preferred:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
  • Experience migrating or assisting in the migration of content for websites
  • Experience creating or remediating PDFs for accessibility

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
