For more information about the company and product line visit: www.sigsauer.com Position Summary: The Additive Machine Setup I will operate, change over and setup basic additive manufacturing machines on low to medium complexity components using automated and manual equipment and processes to meet end customer needs. This is an entry-level position that draws on prior manufacturing experience and basic technical problem-solving skills to operate, change over and setup a minimum of 2 types of primary additive manufacturing equipment. The Additive Machine Setup I will work both independently and in a team environment with internal team members, Leads, Supervisors, Quality, Additive Manufacturing and Programming Engineering. They are also responsible for communicating with management. FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, change over and set-up a minimum of 2 types of primary additive manufacturing equipment within the time allotted by planning/Operator Standard Work.
- Complete all operational processes, checklists, and procedures as required.
- Correctly identify and assemble necessary tools and build materials (powders, resins, filaments etc.) based on existing process documentation.
- Prepare all tooling, fixturing and platform programing out for the machines.
- Pick-up work offsets.
- Basic understanding of additive manufacturing software interface and build preparation.
- All necessary basic adjustments, all necessary center of build platform adjustments, work off set adjustments, making minor parameter updates (feeds and speeds).
- Ability to verify a dimension from CMM report.
- Validate inspection methods to determine best practices.
- Use data from inspection report to make improvements or corrections to programs.
- Work with inspectors during the FA process to implement improvements.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on parts before engaging final inspection.
Education/Experience and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred
- 1 year of experience working with additive machinery is a plus.
- Must be able to accurately read and interpret work orders, basic blueprints, and other related documentation.
- Ability to obtain class 1 and 4 forklift certification.
- Basic computer skills required for data entry and shop floor systems.
- Familiarity with basic 3D file formats (e.g., STL).
- Must be able to clearly communicate basic information in English, both verbally and in written form.
- Participate in all required activities.
- May be required to perform duties outside of outlined role in a limited capacity. Completes tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
- Able to address basic time constraints.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of breaks/lunch periods.
- The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing area where frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, be able to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery.
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
