The pay range for this position is $30.00-$42.41 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Mammography Image Quality Technologist who will also work in X-ray and Dexa to join our team. As a Mammography Image Quality Technologist you will operates scanners in assigned modalities to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Provide leadership and technical support to technical services, assuring that services are provided within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Remains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. This is a part-time position working Monday-Friday from 7:30am-5:00pm (8 hour shifts, benefit eligible, no call).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(60%) Administrative and Technical Support



  • Manages daily mammography care schedules for efficient workflows
  • Releases patient letters
  • Manages EMR dashboard for patient workflow, pending patients, and follow up
  • Requests and enters orders in EMR for diagnostic follow up patients
  • Manages prior imaging for scheduled patients, making sure all prior imaging is available at time of dictation
  • Preps all diagnostic exams, assuring all orders and imaging is available at time of exam
  • Works with clinical team on risk assessments
  • Monitor CADStream
  • Create, call and request orders for Recall exams
  • Enters biopsy results in EMR both internal and surgical pathology
  • Assists technologists managing MQSA credentials
  • Follow ups with radiologists on pending exams


(15%) Team Resource and Quality Assurance



  • Serves as subject matter expert for the team and other departments
  • Assists in the training and onboarding of new associates, as well as provides refresher and new training for existing associates, as applicable
  • Maintains ACR Accreditations and annual MQSA inspections
  • Evaluates workflow, makes recommendations for, and helps implement process improvements
  • Works with supervisor to improve accuracy and patient experience
  • Assists with special projects, as assigned


(10%) Patient Imaging



  • Performs routine and advanced Mammography procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats
  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
  • Explains and prepares patients for procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout the procedure
  • Adjusts scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • Produces diagnostic images in assigned area and performs quality control tasks as assigned
  • Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
  • Converses with doctors, nurses, patients and family members as required.
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect themselves, their patients, and coworkers
  • Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
  • Partners with the radiologists to maximize MRI scanners imaging capability


(10%) Department Support



  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  • Monitors medical supply inventory
  • Assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise
  • Manages department in the absence of technologist and coordinates schedule to ensure appropriate coverage


(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

Required:



  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform radiographic procedures
    independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty
  • Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific


Preferred:



  • Advanced modality certification
  • Bilingual
